Australian Sea Lions Project

Killer Whale (Orca)

As Sea Lions are near the top of the food chain, they don't have many predators.  Large sharks are the main predators, though killer whales have been seen throwing themselves up on the beach to grab a sea lion in their mouths. They then slide back into the ocean to consume their prey. Larger seals sometimes eat sea lions as well.
The White Pointer is the main type of shark to hunt sea lions, but they usually only hunt the larger and slower sea lions or the diseased.

How the Sea Lion Escapes from Predators
The streamlined shape of Sea Lions bodies allows them to move very quickly, their smooth skin lets them cut through the water at great speeds. They are very agile, so predators have a hard time catching them.
